This bursary is to be disbursed to addictions students/workers actively pursuing a career in the addictions field. The bursary will be awarded to a student in a chemical dependency program or new addictions counsellor with not more than three years working experience. The Mary Muir Bursary includes the following:
Paid Registration for APASK Annual Workshop
One Year APASK Membership
Additional Expenses up to a maximum of $250 dollars (i.e. hotel, meals, gas)
SPONSORED and MANAGED by:
Addictions Professionals Association of Saskatchewan, Inc. The Bursary Committee reserves the right to make the final decision on bursary disbursement.
ELIGIBILITY:
Any person actively employed in the addictions field, or students enrolled in an approved post secondary institution whose primary role is directly related to training for addictions counselling and/or addictions prevention and education. Preference will be given to those applicants who have not been employed in the addictions field for more than three years.
Preference will be given to those who work with seniors or woman and have no other source of professional development funds.
CRITERIA:
completed APASK Workshop registration form and signed Bursary Application
applicants must provide evidence of employment in the addictions field in Saskatchewan or be attending a post-secondary institution chemical dependency program in Saskatchewan
a written description of what you expect to get out of the APASK Workshop and how it will assist you in becoming a better addictions counsellor
BURSARY AMOUNT:
APASK Membership and Annual APASK Conference fee included plus additional expenses up to a maximum of $250.00
